We weren’t in Tokyo during the past two Girl’s Days , so we missed the chance to display Arisa’s hinaningyo dolls. When she first got them, she was just a few months old, so this is actually the first time she could appreciate them. We put them up rather late and I almost wasn’t going to do anything anymore, but I was glad we decided to have a little party for her because she was so excited to see the dolls and have a little party. The dolls are placed in a home a few days before March 3rd to absorb the “bad energies” that might otherwise go to the daughter. And the day celebrates the health and happiness of girls in a family, so in the end, no matter how busy it was I didn’t have the heart to not do something.
