Yokohama,Kanagawa
We went to the new Anpanman Museum in Yokohama. It’s a really cute place with everything Anpanman. It’s still pretty crowded though, and even on a weekday we had to line up everywhere – inside the Children’s museum for kids to enter the Anpanman-mobile and even for kids to go on the big Anpanman slides. But when the hype of its newness subsides and its not so packed it would be a good place to go and spend an afternoon, especially if the weather isn’t good for outdoor playing.
I’m not sure how exciting it is for older kids, though. 11-month old Arisa enjoyed too since there are many character figures in her size and there’s many places for her to stand, cruise and crawl around. And the 2 year olds were having a blast running around and playing with the interactive sets.
Outside the museum is a little Anpanman town, with the popular Uncle Jam’s Bakery where you can buy Anpanman anpan, a few restaurants, hair salon, game center, and of course lots of shops with every kind of product available with Anpanman and his friends. Anpanman even makes a little appearance for picture ops. Overall it was a fun outing and the kids wanted to spend more time there but it got even more crowded later in the afternoon and we had to get going.
