Some AFWJ mothers and I spent an afternoon at Asukayama Park in Oji to have a hanami picnic with the kids. There’s an excellent playground area there, with life-size model steam engine kids can enter, and a fun big castle slide structure. There are also smaller playgrounds for toddlers. Lots of space to run around. I saw on Tokyo With Kids that they also have small waterfalls areas for splashing around during on hot summer days.

How to Get There: Take the JR Keihin-Tohoku line to Oji Station.

Traveling with a stroller? There is an escalator from the platform at the opposite end of where you see a bridge. When you exit the station it’s a bit of extra walking to cross the street with a stroller because there’s a huge intersection that has those overpass walkways. When you get to the stairs for the park entrance, pass that staircase and continue walking as there is a sloped entrance to the park.
