I love to find fun stuff for the home. I love to visit apartment therapy for inspiration. But after moving to Tokyo and trying to settle in, home decorating is the first thing to be cut off the budget. So if I can find something super cheap but still pretty cute I am happy the rest of the day. I needed a lamp for the kids’ playroom/living room/guest room and I found this little elephant lamp for only 300 yen! It was at a shop called 3 Coins, on the ground floor of Sun Kamata – one of the department stores at Kamata station. Everything in the store is, as the name implies, 300 yen (which is around US$2.50 at the time of this post). They also sell kitchenwares, dishes, accessories and the stuff is actually cuter than at the 100 yen shop. I guess those extra 200 yen still make a bit of a design difference.
